What distinguishes the Phoenix Art Museum is its beautiful architecture. I was amazed at the layout and design which uses stone, steel, and glass in such a unique way. The open space has a minimalist feel to it that I am fan of. Of course, the artwork was stellar, with a focus on quality over quantity. If you’re ever in Phoenix you’ll want to check it out – you won’t be disappointed. I’ve included some eye-candy for your viewing pleasure. Peace!
Join us as Edgy Gallery and Artsnob:agency presents “Love is Active: A Small Guide to Save Your Mind” book signing and solo art exhibit by local fine artist, Nik Ridley.
Love is Active: A Small Guide to Save Your Mind is a book about love being an active, living force and not merely an emotional construct. LIA is an artistically humanistic guide, complete with interactive exercises, that expand the notion of living a healthy and loving lifestyle by offering practical solutions to today’s challenging issues.
An opening reception is Saturday, December 2nd, from 4-9:00 p.m., where Ridley will be reading excerpts from his book and exhibiting fresh fine art. Join us for a night of great energy, music, and light refreshments as we celebrate life and our shared experience. Family friendly.
About the Author/Artist:
A recent Phoenix transplant from Denver, Nik Ridley’s work is urban-inspired and sensual in nature and explores what he coins, “urban abstract primalism.” Of his influences, Ridley states, “Basquiat, Picasso, Kahlo and Eddie Barnes are my heroes – their stories and imagination have always resonated with me, especially their approach to color and form.
